Antevo count from Zefix open data (the Central Business Name Index of the Federal Commercial Registry Office, opendata.swiss), accessed 17 October 2026: active entries in the commercial register whose registered name contains “family office”, also written “familyoffice” or “office familial”, without those in liquidation, by the canton of the registered office. Every legal form counts. A name says nothing about the business: the count includes offices that serve one family and offices that serve several, and misses family offices whose name does not say so. Counts only: no company is named.

Ticino follows with 29, then Vaud with 16 and Schwyz with 15. Bern has 9, St. Gallen and Lucerne 8 each, and Graubünden, Valais, Nidwalden and Neuchâtel 5 each. (Zefix open data)
Eight further cantons have between one and three each, 13 together. Five cantons have none. (Zefix open data)
For scale: the commercial register held 779,508 registered entities on 1 January 2026. (Federal Commercial Registry Office)
Make a private enquiry03 / What the count shows
A name, not a licence.
The count follows the name a company chose. It includes offices that serve one family and offices that serve several, and misses family offices whose name does not say so.
Whether an office needs FINMA’s authorisation depends on whose assets it manages, not on its name. (FinIA Art. 2(2)(a))
